PENGARUH PERTUMBUHAN EKONOMI, TRADE OPENNESS, DAN PENGELUARAN PEMERINTAH TERHADAP KONSUMSI ENERGY FOSSIL FUEL DI 5 NEGARA ASEAN.
Economic growth in ASEAN fuels fossil energy consumption. Trade openness increases imports and industrial activity, while government spending on fossil energy subsidies and infrastructure reinforces dependency. Energy diversification, sustainable policies, efficiency, innovation and regional collaboration are needed to mitigate the negative impacts. This study aims to analyze economic growth, trade openness and government spending on fossil fuel energy consumption in 5 ASEAN countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam in 2000-2021. The data used is secondary data sourced from the World Bank and Our World In Data. The method in this study uses quantitative descriptive analysis with panel data regression analysis techniques. To see the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable, the best estimation model of the three types of models is selected, and the best estimation model is the fixed effect model (FEM). The results show that economic growth, trade openness and government spending have a positive and significant effect on fossil fuel energy consumption.
