FORMULASI DAN EVALUASI SPRAY GEL CHITOOLIGOSACCHRIDE SEBAGAI ANTI JERAWAT TERHADAP BAKTERI PROPIONIBACTERIUM ACNES
Chitooligosacchride is a complex compound of the glycoprotein group which has a 1,4 glucosamine bond. Chitooligosaccharide as a natural cationic antibacterial agent is widely believed to occur because it interacts and disrupts the structure of the cell wall or cell membrane. This study aims to determine the effect of variations of chitooligosacchride as an anti-acne against Propionibacterium acnes bacteria. Variations in the concentration of chitooligosacchride are 0.25%, 0.5% and 0.75%. The preparation evaluation tests carried out included organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, viscosity test, spreadability test, adhesion test, spray pattern test, dry time test, centrifugation test, and cycling test. Data analysis using SPSS® program. The addition of COS with a high concentration resulted in an increase in the pH value and the viscosity became high. Antibacterial activity testing was carried out using the diffusion method. The results of the diameter of the inhibition zone test with a COS concentration of 0.75% as the best formula obtained a result of 20.3 ± 4.68 which was included in the very strong category >20. For the MIC test, the best formula results were obtained at a concentration of 1250 ppm and the Z comparison control at a concentration of 2500 ppm. The KBM test on the best formula was concentrated at 2500 ppm and the comparison control was at a concentration > 2500 ppm. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the best formula of chitooligosaccride gel spray has very strong antibacterial activity in the >20 mm category and good preparation stability.
