SINTESIS FE3O4-PDA-TIO2 DAN APLIKASINYA PADA FOTODEGRADASI ZAT WARNA METILEN BIRU
Research on the synthesis of Fe3O4-PDA-TiO2 and its application in the photodegradation of methylene blue dye have been successfully carried out. The synthesized materials were characterized using XRD, UV-DRS, SEM-EDS and VSM. The results of the XRD characterization showed that the highest intensity value was located at 2θ with a value of 25.36º and a crystal size of 26.83 nm was obtained. The results of the UV-DRS characterization showed that the band gap energy value of Fe3O4-PDA-TiO2 was 2.65 eV. The results of the SEM-EDS characterization showed that the morphological form of Fe3O4-PDA-TiO2 had small round pores and had white color and the constituent elements consisted of Fe (20.93%), Ti (29.09%), O (37.18%) and Zr (0.95%). The results of the VSM characterization showed that the value of the Fe3O4-PDA-TiO2 saturation moment was 71.46 emu/g and the pHpzc value of Fe3O4-PDA-TiO2 was obtained at pH 7. The best condition for reducing the concentration of methylene blue dye by the Fe3O4-PDA-TiO2 composite was at a concentration of 30 ppm with a contact time of 75 minutes and a composite mass of 0.05 g resulting in an effective concentration reduction of 96.56%. TOC analysis showed that the methylene blue dye before degradation contained 62.9 ppm of carbon and 26.9 ppm after degradation which indicated that the carbon content in methylene blue had been degraded of 57.23%
