This research aimed to determine the effect of shade density and varieties of the production caima(Canna edulis Ker). This research was conducted from September 2012 - February 2013 at the Department of Agriculture Experimental Station, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. Split Plot design was used in this research, in wich variety was the main plot and shading density was sub-plot. Main plot was Morados (VI) and Verdes (V2), while sub-plot was without shading (N0), 50% shading (Ni), and 70% shading (N2). The results showed that the effect of shade density and varieties the canna production significant effect on variable tuber weight (g), ffesh weight of plant (g), dry weight of plant (g), the Chemical composition of tubers and the canna concluded that the plant can still growing at density shade 70%.
