FAKTOR PENDORONG INDONESIA MEYEPAKATI PERJANJIAN KERJA SAMA BILATERAL MELALUI INDONESIA UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC PATNERSHIP AGREEMENT (IUAE-CEPA)
COVID-19 had an impact on economic stability and the trade balance so the Indonesia-United Arab Emirates CEPA cooperation agreement was formed to optimize trade between the two countries. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that prompted the Indonesian government to decide to negotiate the IUAE-CEPA. This research was analyzed using the Bilateral Trade Agreement concept by Jayant Menon to see an analysis of the driving factors for the formation of BTA from two indicators, namely general factors and special factors. The research method used is a qualitative method used to describe the factors that prompted Indonesia to enter into a Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) with the United Arab Emirates in the IUAE-CEPA agreement. The information used comes from both primary sources, such as interview techniques, and secondary sources, such as reports, official websites, journals, and news. This research shows that there are two factors driving Indonesia to form a Bilateral Trade Agreement through the framework of the IUAE-CEPA, which are influenced by general factors and specific factors. But not all of the factors described in the concept introduced by Jayant Menon proved to be factors that pushed Indonesia to form BTA with PEA.
