HUBUNGAN PERAN SUPERVISI KEPALA RUANGAN DENGAN PELAKSANAAN INTERNATIONAL PATIENT SAFETY GOALS DI INSTALASI RAWAT INAP RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Every hospital is obliged to strive to achieve the 6 International Patient Safety Goals which are the main indicators in the health service system in order to produce optimal health services and reduce incidents for patients. Incidents based on service providers by nurses still rank highest, while incidents based on service status are mostly in inpatient rooms. Nursing services in the inpatient ward are led by the head of the ward who has an important role in creating a positive environment through supervision. Supervision activities in the room have not been able to run optimally, because nursing supervision is carried out situationally and has not been scheduled. This research aims to determine the relationship between the supervisory role of the head of the room and the implementation of patient safety targets. This research design is used a quantitative research methods with a cross sectional approach and uses the Spearman rank test. The samples in this research were amounted to 85 respondents selected through with a cluster sampling technique. Data were obtained using The Manchester Clinical Supervision Scale questionnaire and patient safety questionnaire. The results of the research obtained an implementation of IPSG by nurses showed that the majority of respondents implemented IPSG with a good category of 58.8%, almost all of the respondents assessed that supervision had been carried out by the head of the room well, 91.8%. The statistical test results obtained a p-value = 0.012, so there is a significant relationship between the supervisory role of the head nurse and the implementation of IPSG. Supervision is an activity that must be carried out routinely in order to achieve optimal patient safety goals so that its implementation becomes a priority in every activity that must be carried out by all nurses without exception and minimizes reporting of patient safety incidents.
