KARAKTERISTIK DIELEKTRIK KERTAS KRAFT YANG DIIMPREGNASI MINYAK WIJEN PADA TEMPERATUR 140 °C.
This study was conducted to obtain dielectric characteristics in form of breakdown voltage and leakage current in Kraft Paper insulation impregnated in sesame oil with a variety of treatment times of 8; 16; and 24 hours. The samples used are square sheets of kraft paper measuring 25 mm x 25 mm and thickness of 0.04 mm. The breakdown voltage test was conducted using a needle-plene electrode system with a gap distance with a sample surface of 1 mm, while the leakage current test was conducted using a leaf-like sample arrangement with an electrode gap distance of 5 mm. The test results obtained leakage current values without treatment, 8; 16; and 24 hours of thermal aging at a voltage of 220 V are 21,54; 21,88; 22,53; and 23.1 µA, this also occurs when applying a voltage of 500; and 1000 V where the leakage current value will increase. The breakdown voltage value of Kraft Paper insulation without treatment is 4,67 kV. The test results show that thermal aging decreases the dielectric resistance of the sample in resisting the applied dielectric stress. The drop in breakdown voltage of Kraft Paper insulation impregnated with sesame oil for 8; 16; and 24 hours became 4,13; 3,72; and 2,87 kV, respectively. Increasing the time ranging of thermal aging on Kraft Paper insulation causes the insulation to degrade and experience a decrease in resistance value so as to increase the value of the leakage current through the surface of the insulation, also reduce the breakdown voltage value. This study was conducted to obtain dielectric characteristics in form of breakdown voltage and leakage current in Kraft Paper insulation impregnated in sesame oil with a variety of treatment times of 8; 16; and 24 hours.
