PENGARUH SUDUT KEMIRINGAN OBJEK UJI TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN ISOLASI SILICONE RUBBER YANG DIBERI PENGISI SIO2 DI BAWAH APLIKASI TEGANGAN AC.
This study reported the leakage current and resistance value in Silicone Rubber (SiR) insulation material mix Silicone dioxide (SiO2) filler by applying voltage of 220 V, 500 V, and 1000 V. Test samples were sheet form with dimensions of 50 × 25 mm and thickness 1 mm. Test are carried out using an Aluminum tape electrode system glued on both sides of the object with a gap distance of 20 mm. The measurements system used in this test is Inclined Plane Tracking (IPT), which is tracking on an inclined plane. The control variable in this test is the angle of inclination of the surface of the test object (∠30°; ∠45°; and ∠60°) and the effect of adding silica-type fillers of 1 wt%; 2 wt%; and 3 wt%, with test objects without fillers as a comparison. The measurement of the leakage current value is carried out by dripping a solution of Ammonium Chloride (NH4Cl) type contaminant on the surface of the test object with a grain mass and velocity rate of 0.30 gr/ 10 sec. The calculation of the resistance value of the test object uses the Ohm's law equation (V = I.R). Experimental results show that the highest leakage current value is shown at an angle of ∠30°, and the lowest leakage current value is at an angle of ∠60°. Liquid contaminants dripping on the surface of the test object at an angle of ∠30° leave a continuous residue of water flow, thus triggering a high value of leakage current. Silica-type fillers are proven to increase the resistance value as the composition increases, even on asymmetrical surfaces. However, the test object failed because there were traces of abrasion and carbon paths on the dry tape.
