PENGARUH PEREGANGAN MEKANIK TERHADAP KEKUATAN TEGANGAN TEMBUS BAHAN ISOLASI KOMPOSIT SiR DIBERI PENGISI SiC.
This study report the effect of mechanical stress in the form of pulling on the breakdown voltage characteristics of silicone rubber filled with silicone carbide with a concentration of 0; 5; 10; 15 wt%. The sample was made in a dumbbell shaped with a length of 50 mm, a width of 25 mm and a thickness of 1 mm. The test was carried out using a needle-plate electrode with the application of an alternating voltage which was increased slowly at a rate of 100 V/sec, with a gap between the sample surface and the electrode of 1 mm. Samples were given a tensile treatment with a tensile variation of 0; 0.5; 1; 1.5 cm for 1 hour. Tests on pure silicone rubber obtained a PDIV value of 1.830 kV and a VBD of 3.058 kV. The addition of filler shows that the filler affect an increasing of the PDIV value to 1.941; 1,962; 1.947 kV and VBD to 3.205 kV and 3.288 kV, then get a lower value to 2.958 kV. However, the tensile treatment on the composite sample is thought to have a partial damage effect so that it can reduce the quality of the insulation. A significant decrease occurred when the sample experienced a 1.5 cm withdrawal, the PDIV value became 2.219; 2,248; 2.289 and 2.161 kV and VBD to 2.864; 2,983; 3.090 and 2.743 kV.
