PALEOBATIMETRI DAERAH SEMIDANG AJI IMPLIKASINYA TERHADAP IKLIM PURBA FORMASI BATURAJA, KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ULU, PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN.
Semidang Aji is located in Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra, which is 27 km with a travel time of 45 minutes from the center of Baturaja City. This research aims to determine the description of the ancient climate conditions and environmental climate during the relative deposition process of the Baturaja Formation. The research method is descriptive-interpretive paleontological analysis, namely taking samples and preparing planktonic and benthonic foraminifera fossils using a hydroxene peroxide solution which is then interpreted in the form of tables, graphs and models. The depth obtained from the analysis of benthonic foraminifera fossils has an influence on the temperature of the marine environment and also the climate during the deposition process. The results obtained are that the Baturaja Formation in the Semidang Aji area has a depositional environmental depth ranging from 14.4-182 m and is in the Transition to Middle Neritic zone with an average environmental temperature of 18 C. This shows that the environment of the research location in ancient times was included in the Tropical Rain Forest (Af) climate.
