This study aims to analyze the behavior of adolescents in using online gambling in the Bukit Lama Village, Palembang City. This study uses qualitative research methods by collecting information from 11 informants consisting of youth who use online gambling and supporting informants as an additional strengthening of the data in research in the sub-district. Data obtained through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that adolescents who use online gambling have a variety of behaviors, ranging from occasional use to addiction. Several factors influence adolescents in using online gambling including curiosity within themselves, social environment, peers and social media. Teenagers who use online gambling tend to experience behavioral or psychological problems such as self-closing, addiction in playing, difficulty controlling emotions, and even committing juvenile delinquency. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase public awareness about the negative effects of online gambling on adolescents, and the need for stricter regulations regarding the use of online gambling.
