STRATEGI PENGHIDUPAN BERKELANJUTAN (SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD) PETANI PADI SAWAH MASA POST COVID – 19 DI DESA JANGGIR LETO KECAMATAN PANEI KABUPATEN SIMALUNGUN PROVINSI SUMATERA UTARA
Lowland rice farmers in Janggir Leto Village, Panei District, Simalungun Regency have experienced a decline in income over timepost Covid-19, various sustainable livelihood strategies were implemented. This research aims to determine the condition of livelihood capital and livelihood strategies used by lowland rice farmers in Janggir Leto Village, Panei District, Simalungun Regency. The research method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive method. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. The results of this research indicate that the livelihood conditions of lowland rice farmers in Janggir Leto Village, Panei District, consist of: human capital (obtaining formal education (100%) and ownership of skills (97.8%) ), natural capital (utilization of natural resources in agricultural areas (71.7%), land use around settlements (78%) other land use (10.87%), and use of plants around agriculture (67.2%), social capital (participation in social organizations (96, 7%) and participation in social organization activities consisting of religion (31.5%), efforts to improve the economy (88%), culture (35.9%), and living environment (100%), financial capital (ownership of savings (56.5%), ownership of receivables (88%), obtaining financial assistance (71%), and ownership of loans (55%) and physical capital (house ownership (100%), land ownership and control of (100%), ownership of agricultural production facilities (100%), and agricultural production (< 2.5 tons by 15.2%, 2.5 tons-5 tons by 70.7%, and > 5 tons by 14.1%) ). There are three sustainable livelihood strategies carried out by rice farmers during the post Covid-19 period in Janggir Leto Village, Panei District, Simalungun Regency, namely: intensification and extensification (intensification (76.1%) and extensification (4.3%)), diversification (59 .8%), and migration (6.5%).
