Technological sophistication create a new civilization called the digital era which create a new smart little thing, named gadget, gadget are likened to two blades of a knife that have good and bad impact for the users.This study aims to develop an animated parenting video media to tackling addiction in children at the peaceful and practical Citra Damai II complex in Palembang City. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method and the research model according to Borg and Gall which is simplified into 5 stages. Preliminary data collection was carried out using an initial data analysis questionnaire which produced an animated video parenting media with a percentage of 100% of parents in Citra Damai II complex liking animated videos as a parenting media. This application is done by validating the product with 3 experts, namely material experts, media experts, and linguists with the overall percentage of 3 experts namely 87.7% percent. Implementation was also carried out by conducting one-to-one product trials with the total score of 107 and an percentage of 89%, category is very practical and also small groups with a total score of 328 and an percentage of 91%, very practical categories. Based on that point, we can draw the conclusions that the development of animated video parenting media for handling gadget addiction in children at the Citra Damai II complex in Palembang City is stated to be very valid and very practical to use as a media parenting.
