This research is motivated by the many phenomena of exploitation of underage children who are employed by their parents to become scavengers, where children at that age should be studying and playing with other children. This study aims to see what forms of exploitation are carried out and what factors cause the exploitation of children to become scavengers in Sungai Lilin sub-district and to see the impact they have on these children. This research uses a qualitative type of research by finding data on people who are employed by their parents and conducting in-depth interviews to obtain valid data and then matching it with the concept of exploitation from Terry E Lawson. The dimensions of this exploitation concept are emotional violence, verbal violence, physical violence, and sexual violence. The results of this study indicate that the exploitation of children in Sungai Lilin subdistrict in the form of employing minors, namely physical exploitation, social exploitation, exploitation which includes discrimination in working time and discrimination in work results. Social exploitation, namely restrictions on the right to pay school fees. This act of exploitation is caused by family economic factors, family social condition factors, and parental education factors. the impact on children is for children's health, children's education, child psychology, and the surrounding environment.
