PT Bukit Asam Tbk is one of the companies in the field of state-owned mining business located in Tanjung Enim, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra. Mining activities require a drainage system so as not to interfere with production activities, especially mining using the open pit mining method. The SJS pit is a newly operating pit with a multiseam coal array. The SJS pit has a catchment area of 163 ha and has one sump that has a maximum capacity of 342,291.54 m3, the volume of the sump is used to accommodate runoff discharge, in addition to the volume of insitu sludge formed, it will affect the dimensions of the sump, this is because the mud will reduce the capacity of the existing sump, it is estimated that the volume The sump cannot accommodate a total runoff water discharge of 17,954,649 m3 / day and an insitu sludge volume of 70.08 m3 / day Therefore, it is necessary to plan the appropriate sump dimension design so that production activities run optimally. Pumps operating in the field amounted to two units of Multiflo 420 EXHV pumps with sufficient planning to require one pump unit that operates with working hours of 18.47 hours / day. The plan to increase the volume of the sump is designed in a trapezoidal shape with dimensions of 306 m surface width and 294 m base width with a depth of 6 m to accommodate the total discharge of runoff water and incoming insitu mud.
