KONFLIK SOSIAL DALAM NOVEL HELEN DAN SUKANTA KARYA PIDI BAIQ: KAJIAN SOSIOLOGI SASTRA DAN IMPLIKASINYA TERHADAP PEMBELAJARAN SASTRA INDONESIA
This study aims to describe social conflicts in the novel Helen and Sukanta by Pidi Baiq. The social conflicts contained in the novel Helen and Sukanta by Pidi Baiq are analyzed using a sociology of literature approach with Ian Watt's theory, namely literature as a mirror of society. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The source of the data in this study is the novel Helen and Sukanta by Pidi Baiq. The data analysis technique uses a literary sociology approach. The results of the research show that in the novel Helen and Sukanta by Pidi Baiq there are social conflicts. Social conflict is divided into 5 parts, namely (1) personal conflict; (2) racial conflict; (3) social class conflict; (4) political conflict; (5) international conflict. However, the data found were only four conflicts while political conflicts were not found in the novel Helen and Sukanta by Pidi Baiq. The total number of data quotes from social conflicts found, namely 36 data quotes from social conflicts. The results of this study can be implied in learning Indonesian at the junior high school level and senior high school level for class VIII and class XII by using the 2013 curriculum in accordance with the applicable basic competencies.
