PT Bukit Asam Tbk has several contractors responsible for executing mining operations, one of which is PT Banguin Karya Pratama Leistari (BKPL), and PT Puisaka Buimi Transportasi (PBT) as subcontractors performing mining activities at Pit 3 East, Bangko Tengah site, with a production target of 100,000 tons of coal in March. This study aims to analyze the conditions of the mining work area, assess the production capabilities of loading and hauling equipment, and evaluate strategies to improve coal production at Pit 3 East, Bangko Tengah site. Mining is conducted using the open-pit method and employs the shovel and truck system. After calculations, the actual total coal production for the month of March amounted to 78.142,182 tons, achieving a production target of 78,14%. Based on this actual production, it is evident that the established production target has not been met. During coal mining activities, various obstacles were identified, including poor road conditions, ineffective working hours, and a lack of compatibility between loading and hauling equipment. Therefore, an evaluation was conducted regarding road conditions, work efficiency, and compatibility factors. The work efficiency in coal mining was increased from 39% to 47%. After a technical evaluation of coal mining activities, coal production increased from the initial 78.142,182 tons to 124.841,717 tons, achieving a production target of 124,84%, meeting the set production target for the month of March.
