The garment industry is one of the priorities in Indonesia, as it plays a significant role in contributing to the country's foreign exchange and absorbing labor. However, Indonesian garment products are still unable to compete with garment products from abroad, especially from China, whose products have flooded the domestic market. Indonesian consumers favored them because Chinese garments offered lower prices, acceptable quality, and up-to-date models. Therefore, this research is oriented to examine in depth how the efforts of the Indonesian government to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian garment exports to China. This research used a qualitative approach with the type of content or document analysis research related to the Indonesian government's efforts to improve the competitiveness of garment exports to China. In this research, the author used Michael Porter's competitiveness theory as a center point to analyze related to increase export competitiveness (demand conditions, related and supporting industries, firm strategy, structure and rivalry, factor conditions, and government). The results of this study revealed that Indonesia is personally capable of fulfilling local and international garment needs. Efforts to increase garment exports to China were made by: 1). Creating policies such as laws, presidential decrees, ministry regulations, social assistance, and decentralization of authority, 2). accommodating producers in lifting cultural patterns on products, 3). Attempting to overcome obstacles such as capital regulations, labor, and high taxes, restrictions on imports of used garments, 4). Local-international cooperation such as RECP and ACTA. However, these efforts have not been significant enough to increase garment exports to China.. Keywords : Garment, China, Indonesian Government Efforts.
