PENGARUH TEMAN SEBAYA TERHADAP MINAT MELANJUTKAN PENDIDIKAN KE PERGURUAN TINGGI PADA PESERTA DIDIK DI SMA NEGERI 1 NAMANG
This research is motivated by the problem of interest in continuing education to tertiary institutions which is still low among students at SMA Negeri 1 Namang. Many factors influence the interest in continuing their education to tertiary institutions, one of which is peers. This study aims to prove the influence of peers on students' interest in continuing their education to tertiary institutions at SMA Negeri 1 Namang. This research is a causality associative research with a quantitative approach. The population of this study were students of class XI Social Sciences at SMA Negeri 1 Namang, which consisted of 111 students. Sampling used cluster random sampling technique and obtained a sample of class XI IPS 1 students totaling 29 students. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The results of the questionnaire data for the peer variable and the variable interest in continuing their education to tertiary institutions will later be tested for hypotheses. The results showed that there was peer influence on students' interest in continuing their education to tertiary institutions at SMA Negeri 1 Namang. This can be seen from the results of testing the hypothesis using parametric statistics and obtained t(count) = 2.145 > t(table) = 1.703 then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The magnitude of the influence of peers on the interest in continuing their education to tertiary education at SMA Negeri 1 Namang is 14.55% and 85.45% is influenced by other variables not examined by researchers. Students are expected to choose peers who have a high enthusiasm for learning so that students will also be carried away to positive things and can foster their interest in continuing their education to tertiary education.
