PERBAIKAN JALAN ANGKUT MENGGUNAKAN GEOTEXTILE UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PRODUKTIVITAS HD 785 PADA SITE GURIMBANG MINE OPERATION, PT. BERAU COAL
PT. Berau Coal is one of the mining companies in Indonesia that focuses on mining and selling coal commodities. This research was conducted on the haul road at Site Gurimbang Mine Operation, where the current condition of the haul road is undulating and located above a swampy area. This condition reduces the speed of the HD 785 unit and results in the company's productivity target not being achieved. For example, in July, the HD 785 productivity target was 54.675 bcm/month, but only reached 42.525 bcm/month, and in August, the target was 54.675 bcm/month but only reached 44.550 bcm/month. Efforts were made to improve the condition of the haul road by using geotextile as a reinforcement method. This research was conducted by analyzing and processing data from in-situ tests and actual field data collection. In-situ testing was carried out using a dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP) to determine the soil density and soil bearing capacity in the initial condition and after the geotextile installation. Actual field data collection was in the form of HD 785 cycle time and speed data used to evaluate HD 785 productivity before and after geotextile installation. The soil density value on the haul road was calculated using the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) method. The test results showed that in the initial condition, there were still 11 test points in segments 2, 4, and 5 that did not meet the haul road subbase standard, which is ≤ 20%. Therefore, layering and compacting were required to improve it. The soil bearing capacity was calculated based on the previously obtained CBR value. From the calculation results, it was found that in the initial condition, segments 2, 4, and 5 did not meet the minimum soil bearing capacity value for HD 785, which is ≤ 8,59 kg/cm2. Based on the CBR value, soil bearing capacity, and swampy area mapping, segments 2, 4, and 5 were identified as priorities for geotextile installation. After the geotextile installation, it was found that the CBR value and soil bearing capacity in segments 2, 4, and 5 could meet the minimum CBR and soil bearing capacity values for HD 785. In addition to increasing the CBR value and soil bearing capacity, the use of geotextile also increased the speed of the HD 785. Based on direct field data collection, the HD 785 speed increased by 3 km/hour both during load travel and empty travel. This increase in HD 785 speed directly impacted the increase in HD 785 productivity from the initial 43.821,63 bcm/month by 26% to 55.375,72 bcm/month.
