The prevalence of diabetes mellitus in the world continues to increase every year with the highest diabetes cases being type 2 diabetes mellitus, namely 85-95%. Type 2 DM sufferers must change their lifestyle so that blood sugar levels remain stable, such as adjusting their diet, reducing sugar consumption, increasing physical activity, controlling blood sugar regularly and consuming medication. These changes can cause stress because they require continuous adjustments in daily life. The stress experienced by type 2 DM sufferers will have an impact on the treatment process. This research aims to determine the effect of Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique therapy on the stress levels of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. This research is a pre-experimental research with a one group pretest posttest design. The population in this study were type 2 diabetes mellitus patients who were in the inpatient ward of Siti Fatimah Regional Hospital, South Sumatra Province. Sampling in this study used non-probability sampling through purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 16 respondents. SEFT therapy in this study was given once a day for 3 consecutive days for 10-15 minutes. The instrument in this study used the Diabetes Distress Scale questionnaire. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that p value = 0.000 (
