Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer case in Indonesia with 58,256 cases. Cases of breast cancer which previously mostly occurred in middle-aged women, are now starting to infect adolescents. Efforts that can be done to control breast cancer is to do breast self-examination (BSE). Adolescents' awareness about BSE is very low, this is due to their lack of knowledge about early detection of breasts. The thing that can be done to increase knowledge about BSE is to provide health education. This study aims to determine the effect of health education using the lecture method on the level of knowledge of adolescents about BSE. This research is a pre-experimental study with a one group pre-test post-test design using the probability sampling method with stratified random sampling technique. The number of samples in this study were 18 respondents. This study used the lecture method using power point media which contained materials and videos about BSE. The level of knowledge of adolescents about BSE was measured using a knowledge questionnaire. Statistical analysis in this study used the Wilcoxon test. The results of the analysis obtained a p value of 0,000 (a ≤ 0,05) which shows that the hypothesis H_1 accepted and H_0 rejected thus there is an influence of providing health education on the level of knowledge in adolescents. The lecture method with power point media containing material and videos is very effective in increasing adolescent knowledge about BSE so that these methods and media can be used in health education
