Film can be said as a medium for conveying messages or infomations that is unique and attracts the attention of the general public because the characteristics that combine video and audio. The types of massages that are conveyed and shown in films are very diverse, one of which is content that contains elementa of violence that are displayed directly in pictures, in conversational dialogue, or in story ideas. This research was conducted with aim of knowing and understanding how much violence has occurred in romantic genre films in 2020-2021. In this study, guided by the theory of the triangle of violence introduced bt Johan Galtung, the violence is divided into three dimensions, namely direct violence, structural violence, and cultural violence. This study used a quantitative content analysis reaserch method by analyzing the violence found in Indonesian romantic films in 2020-2021. The reasult of this study found that the dimension with the highest amount of violence was the direct violence dimension of 94% of the total amount of violence displayed. For the least dimension is stuctural violence with the percentage of these dimensions only showing as much as 1%. If you look at the total amount of violence found in Indonesian films with the romantic genre in 2020-2021, there is still a lot of violence on it is still not in eccordance with the recommended audience age classification.
