EXPLORING ENGLISH EDUCATION STUDENTS’ AWARENESS OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND CLIMATE CHANGE EDUCATION THROUGH MULTIMODAL CREATIVE WRITING
Climate change which has hit almost all regions of the world has also had a very detrimental impact on human life, so mitigation and adaptation measures are needed for the moral and material losses it causes. Therefore, there is a need for climate change education. One way climate change education is to use the creation of pictures books as multimodal creative writing in the learning of English language education students. This research aims to find out how English education students perspective on climate change and climate change education. This study used a qualitative method using interviews and artifacts as a data collection tool. This study used a sample of 18 English language education students who were in creative writing classes, Sriwijaya University. The results show that the knowledge and awareness of English students is already very good about climate change and climate change education Other reses show that the activity of making picture books with multimodal creative writing can increase students' knowledge and awareness about climate change and climate change education Keywords: climate change, education, creative writing, multimodal
