This thesis is entitled "The Influence of Traditional Roof Tiles on the Environment in Gedung Rejo Village, Belitang District, East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, 1955-2020". The purpose of this study is to find out exactly how the traditional tile handicraft industry developed in Gedung Rejo Village, Belitang District, East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency in 1955-2020, to see the effect of craft activities on the environment and the process of mitigating the effects of natural damage. The research was conducted from September 2021 to December 2022 using historical methods with data collection techniques through library research and in-depth interviews with several artisans, community leaders, and various related parties, while the approach used was a geographical approach. Based on the results of the research, it was obtained information that roof tiles are developing very much every year. Between 1955 and 2020 there were quite significant developments, such as in 1993 there were updates in molding technology, sales and production of tile crafts every year. However, this is a problem for the environment in the form of population displacement due to clay excavation as a raw material, potential for flooding and ecosystem damage. So that there are efforts to overcome the potential for natural disasters and environmental damage.
