ANALISA KEKUATAN TARIK HASIL SAMBUNGAN LAS SMAW DENGAN JARAK KAMPUH DAN ARUS YANG BERBEDA PADA BAJA ST 40
The research uses an experimental method which includes the welding process, which varies the seam distance and the current at the time of welding, then a tensile test is carried out. The variation of the seam distance used is 2 mm and 3 mm and also the current that is varied is 70, 80, 90 amperes. The welding process was carried out on ST 40 steel. There were 6 specimens made, including 3 specimens with a seam spacing of 2 mm and 3 specimens with a seam spacing of 3 mm. The purpose of this study was to determine the highest tensile strength value between the seam distance and the current used. From the research results it is known that all welded objects have different tensile strength values. From the 6 specimens used it can be seen that the specimen that has the highest tensile strength value is specimen 1 with a current of 70 A and a seam distance of 2 mm with a tensile strength value of 46.198 kgf/mm2 while the lowest tensile strength value is specimen 4 with a current of 70 A and a seam distance of 3 mm with a tensile strength value of 35.582 kgf/mm2.
