PENGARUH PERLAKUAN PANAS T6 TERHADAP KEKUATAN FATIK PADA ALUMINIUM PADUAN.
Industrial technology develops rapidly from time to time. Discussing technology, metal is very important, almost all human needs cannot be separated from metal elements. One type of metal is aluminum, aluminum is a light metal that has corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity and other good properties such as metallic properties. Aluminum AA7075 is aluminum whose main composition is Al, Zn, Mg, Cu and a small number of other metals. Fatigue or fatigue is defined as a permanent process of structural change which occurs gradually under conditions which cause strain and stress variations below their ultimate tensile strength and at one or more points which after a certain variation can lead to cracking or fracture. Damage to material components is often caused by fatigue, namely failure caused by repeated loads/stresses. Therefore, fatigue, especially for components and materials, is a very important property to study and research. This study aims to determine the S-N curve that can be used to predict the fatigue strength of a material. To improve the mechanical properties of the material can be changed by means of heat treatment. Materials on the market can improve their mechanical properties by providing heat treatment and adjusting them to the type of loading, either static or dynamic. Heat treatment is a process to improve the properties of a material by heating the material to a certain temperature, then cooling it to a lower temperature, softening, normalizing, hardening and tempering. T6 heat treatment is a solution to improve the mechanical properties of the material. Bending fatigue test is a material testing process to determine the degree of fatigue of a material when it receives a load. From these data, we get that the greater the bending angle given to the test specimen, the smaller the cycle value, which means that the fatigue strength is getting smaller. On the other hand, the greater the bending angle given, the greater the stress applied to the specimen. The results of this study indicate that the effect of T6 heat treatment on AA7075 has made the material more resistant than non-treated materials, so that there is a tendency to increase the hardness value of AA7075 given heat treatment (HT). This is proven from the data we get that the highest value of fatigue strength is found in the 6-hour AA7075 HT specimen, while the lowest fatigue strength value is in the AA7075 NHT specimen.
