This study aims to determine the influence of the Internet as a medium for Civics Learning on the Independence Character of Class XI Students at SMA PGRI 2 Palembang. This study uses a type of quantitative research. The population of this study were all students of class XI SMA PGRI 2 Palembang Academic Year 2022/2023, where the number of class XI was 7 classes, there were 2 majors, namely Science and Social Sciences, totaling 244 students with a research sample of 69 students consisting of Class XI IPA 1 totaled 36 students and Class XI IPS 1 students totaled 33 students taken by purposive sampling. Data collection techniques used are Documentation Techniques, interviews and questionnaires. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion of the results of the questionnaire, eleven indicators were used as benchmarks for researchers with 25 statements, the average value of the whole was 80.9 this means in general that the use of the Internet as a Media for Civics Learning has a significant and positive effect obtained by 22.8%, on the independent character of students. educate.
