PT Triaryani is a company engaged in coal mining located in the Nibung District and Rawas Ilir District, North Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra Province. In mining activities the existence of mechanical equipment plays an important role. Often the use of hauling equipment is not as planned so that it will hamper production activities. The purpose of this research is to optimize mechanical equipment with the help of Haulsim software. With the help of software researchers can simulate mining activities by comparing the results of each fleet with the use of different numbers of dump trucks. The results compared are in terms of costs incurred during the simulation which include operating costs, owning costs and production generated in each fleet so that the optimal number of dump trucks used in each fleet is obtained. For fleet 1 with a distance of 1 km using 5 dump trucks. Fleets 2 and 3 with distances of 1.25km and 1.5km use 6 dump trucks. Fleet 4 with a distance of 1.75km uses 7 dump trucks and fleet 5 with a distance of 1.65km uses 5 dump trucks. After getting the optimal number of dump trucks, further simulations are carried out to analyze the costs incurred during production activities. So that the cost to move 1 bcm of overburden is Rp.10,123.69 and the cost to move 1 ton of coal is Rp20,851.4
