Based on the problem of the need for rest areas that must be provided on toll roads, rest areas should be able to facilitate and serve toll road users well. It is recorded that in the South Sumatra toll road area there are a number of rest areas that are inadequate from the word feasible according to the type and target of utilizing the potential of integrated rest areas. In addition, the results of observations in the Kayu Agung - Palembang toll road area are sufficient for the procurement of rest areas which until now do not have permanent rest area points. South Sumatra has a lot of tourism potential and interesting cultural uniqueness for people from outside South Sumatra to explore. Answering the problem regarding the needs and targets for the provision of rest areas, through planning and designing an integrated type A rest area in the Kayu Agung-Palembang toll area with a neo-vernacular architectural approach, the iconic Kajang Ship of Kayu Agung city is appointed as the area of the taken toll road section. The building design applied to this rest area provides iconic visuals to the surrounding area and attracts rest area visitors so that it is expected to provide an opportunity to introduce the potential of South Sumatra and improve the economy of the surrounding community.
