ANALISIS ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN PADA PASIEN DENGAN POST OPERASI Ca MAMMAE DAN INTERVENSI TERAPI GUIDE IMAGERY DI RUANG RAWAT INAP RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Background: Breast cancer after undergoing curative surgery will experience discomfort in the form of pain, so nursing action is needed to overcome this problem. The action given is in the form of a collaborative administration of analgesics combined with the provision of complementary therapies, one of which is guided imagery therapy. Aim: To apply nursing care to post-operative Ca Mammary patients. Method: The method used was qualitative research with a case study approach to 3 post-mammary Ca surgery patients. Results: There were five nursing problems that were established in post-mammary Ca surgery patients and the main nursing problem was found to be acute pain. The complementary intervention given to reduce pain in this case study was guided imagination therapy for 10-15 minutes and a reduction in pain intensity of 2-3 on the pain scale was obtained. Discussion: Carrying out guided imagery therapy can reduce the intensity of pain because it will have a relaxing effect by reducing muscle tension because there is stimulation in the form of stored imagination in the form of pleasant memories which will emerge and give rise to a perception, from the hypothalamus it will form a response according to the meaning of the stimulus received. So it will be easier for the subject to associate himself in reducing the sensation of pain experienced. Conclusion: Guided imagery relaxation therapy is effective in reducing pain experienced by post-mammary Ca surgery patients.
