PENERAPAN AROMATERAPI LAVENDER TERHADAP NYERI PADA IBU POST SECTIO CAESAREA DI RUANG ENIM 2 RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Sectio caesarea is a surgical procedure on the abdominal wall and uterus which aims to produce a child. The act of giving birth through the SC process has a very serious impact. After the post-SC delivery is complete, pain will occur in the surgical wound. Perception of labor pain can be treated pharmacologically and non-pharmacologically. A nursing intervention that can help deal with post-SC pain is providing lavender aromatherapy. This study aims to describe nursing care for mothers post caesarean section by applying lavender aromatherapy. The method applied in this research is qualitative research with a case study approach to 3 post-cesarean section mothers. The application of lavender aromatherapy can reduce the mother's pain scale after SC, therefore the patient's pain level decreases. This is because aromatherapy can have a relaxing effect and create a perception of pain in post-SC mothers by calming the mother's mind with inhaled aromatherapy. The oil content in lavender aromatherapy mediates the release of enzymes that reduce muscle contractions, thus providing a feeling of relaxation and is effective in reducing pain in post SC. The application of lavender aromatherapy was effective in reducing pain levels in three post-caesarean section mothers. Keywords: Sectio Caesarea, Pain, Lavender Aromatherapy
