One of the main problems on cassava production decline is mealybug pests (Ferrisia virgata Cockerell) that can damage parts of plant such as shriveled leaves and stunted shoots to resemble flowers or called bunchy tops. Presence of mealybugs in the early life period is a treat that cassava plant death causing. This study aims to determine the population dynamics of mealybugs on cassava plants and study the interaction between location and plant age in determining the population of mealybugs on cassava plants. The research was conducted in a cassava plantation owned by the people of Indralaya City. The data processing was carried out at the Biology Education Laboratory, FKIP Sriwijaya University, Palembang, from November 2022 to December 2022. The sample areas were determined using the purposive sampling method with direct observation in six areas of the cassava plantation. Observations were made every week for five repetitions by calculating pest attack populations, the percentage of cassava plants attacked by mealybugs and the intensity of mealybug attacks on cassava plants. Based on the data obtained, the affected cassava plants were dominated in plot 6 as much as 54%. The population of mealy bugs in cassava plantations in Indralaya was 42.8%. Population dynamics in cassava plantations in Indralaya City are considered very dynamic and tend to increase as indicated by the average percentage growth rate of 42.8%. The results of the research contributed to the biology learning of senior high school KD 3.10, presenting the research results in the form of LKPD. The results of the LKPD validation test analysis show that feasible category to use. Keywords: Cassava, population dynamics, Ferrisia virgata Cockerell
