EVALUASI KESESUAIAN LAHAN UNTUK TANAMAN JAGUNG (ZEA MAYS L.) DAN UBI KAYU (MANIHOT ESCULENTA) DI DESA BAKUNG KECAMATAN INDRALAYA UTARA KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR
This study aims to determine the limiting factors that affect the level of land suitability for maize and cassava plants and evaluate the level of land suitability for maize and cassava plants. This research was conducted in November 2022–February 2022 in Bakung Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. The method used in this research is a very detailed level survey method. Sampling using the grid system method as many as 8 samples with a land area of ± 8 ha. The results showed that the limiting factors for maize were temperature, soil texture, CEC, soil pH, total N, P2O5, and K2O. While the limiting factors for cassava land are drainage, soil texture, CEC, soil pH, total N, P2O5, and K2O. Corn plants have an actual land suitability level in the N-f class (not suitable; soil pH), and efforts to improve it are by adding agricultural lime. Then the suitability of potential corn land occupies class S2-t, r (quite suitable; limits temperature and soil texture), with efforts to improve it through the use of mulch and applying compost to the land. Cassava plants have land suitability class S3-f, n (according to marginal; soil pH and P2O5), in samples T1 and T5, but classified as class S3-f (according to marginal; soil pH) in samples T2, T3, T4, T6 , T7, and T8. efforts to improve it through the provision of agricultural lime and phosphate fertilizers. Then the suitability of potential cassava land is in class S2-w, r (quite suitable; rainfall and soil texture), with efforts to improve it through drip irrigation and applying compost to the land. Key words : Land suitability, Limiting factors, Maize and cassava plants
