This study aims to evaluate the growth and production of black rice (Oryza sativa L. indica) accession IP 4.13 and accession IP 6.11.5, identify and select several Sub-Populations of black rice in both accessions based on the uniformity of growth and production so that several suggested Sub-Populations for development based on superior traits, production potential and seed availability. Identification and selection of black rice accessions to IP 6.11.5 and IP 4.13 was carried out by mass selection, after the results showed that there was no type of intersection based on the color of the grain, then identification and selection of main plants was continued with the quadrant and graph method. The quadrant method is used to determine and selected main plants based on quadrant III as a reference wherein the quadrant method will use two traits, namely based on the percentage of panicles with >85% maturity and dry grain weight (g/plant), then main plants are selected from the quadrant III will be re-selected using the graphical method by taking into account the agronomic characteristics of the elder plant, namely inpara 5 so that several Sub-Populations will be obtained. The total plants tested in this study were 96 plants for black rice accession IP 6.11.5 and 88 plants for black rice accession IP 4.13. The parametric statistical test used is the two sample T-test or two independent sample T-test and statistical analysis, in this study using the Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) program. The results of this study were obtained 4 sub-populations based on growth and production with the distribution of SP-Alya-1, SP-Alya-2, SP-Alya-3, included in the Sub-Populations resulting from black rice accession IP 6.11.5, while for SP-Alya-4 is included in IP accession 4.13.
