PENGARUH PEMBERIAN BIOBOOST TERHADAP PRODUKSI RUMPUT RAJA (Pennisetum purpuphoides)
Forage feed is the main feed for ruminants that meets nutritional needs, reproductive needs, and production without endangering livestock welfare. Currently, to overcome the shortage oof feed, various types of animal feed have been developed, one of which is king grass. If the availability of nutrients in the king grass is sufficient, it will be able to increase the productivity of the king grass. One of the efforts to increase the productivity of king grass is by giving bioboost. This study aims to determine the effect of giving bioboost on king grass production. This research was conducted from September to November 2022 in Kota Daro II Village, Rantau Panjang District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. This study used a Randomized Group Design (RAK) with 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely without giving bioboost (P0), bioboost dose of 40 ml/liter of water (P1), bioboost dose of 60 ml/liter of water (P2), and bioboost dose of 80 ml/liter of water (P3). The results showed that the application of bioboost had no real effect on the production of fresh weight, dry matter, and dry matter production of king grass. The average production of fresh weight ranges from 872.22 g - 1,105.56 g. The average dry matter ranges from 18.17% - 20.44%. And the average dry matter production ranges from 164.54 g - 219.23 g.From this study it can be concluded that the provision of bioboost up to a dose of 80 ml/liter of water has not been able to increase the production of fresh weight, dry matter and dry matter production of king grass. Keywords: Bioboost, Dry matter, Dry matter production, Fresh weight production, King grass.
