The aim of this study was to determine the diversity of herbivorous insects found in cassava plantations in Indralaya Utara District, Ogan Ilir District, South Sumatra Province. This study was conducted from October 2022 to July 2023. The method used in this study was a direct survey method in the field by roaming, and the sampling technique was carried out by tracing four predetermined stations and then observing and capturing herbivorous insects directly using an insect net. The obtained data were descriptively identified and analyzed. The results showed that the total number of herbivorous insect species found was 478 individuals, consisting of four orders belonging to eight families and 12 species. The species found included Trimerotropis fontana, Oxya japonica, Locusta migratoria, Zonocerus variegatus, Atractomorpha lata, Myzinum quinquecintum, Apis dorsata, Mictis longicornis, Bothrogonia addita, Hypolimnas bolina, Acraea terpicore and Appias libythea. The diversity index of insect species found in cassava plantations is at station one aged 2 weeks H'= 1,730, at station two aged 4 months H'= 2,379, at station three aged 5 months H'= 2,311 and at station four aged 7 months H'= 2,254, all four stations in cassava plantations in Indralaya belong to the moderate diversity index.
