This study aims to determine the effect of implementing a project-based learning model on student's critical thinking ability at MTS Fathul Huda Lawang Agung Lahat. The approach used in this study is quantitative with the quasi experimental design method with the form of nonequivalent control group. Data collection techniques taken using observation, test and documentation techniques. The results showed that the t-test analysis test obtained a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.002 < 0.05, this showed that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected, so there was a difference in the critical thinking ability of the experimental class and the control class. The difference occurs because the learning model given is also different, where the experimental class given using a project-based learning model has an average critical thinking ability of 71% included in the critical category. While the control class was using a problem-based learning model, having an average critical thinking ability of 61% included in the category of quite critical. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the project-based learning model has an influence on student's critical thinking ability in class VIII PPKn subjects at MTS Fathul Huda Lawang Agung Lahat.
