UJI EFEKTIVITAS BACILLUS THURINGIENSIS SEBAGAI BIO-INSEKTISIDA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN KEANEKARAGAMAN ARTHROPODA PADA TANAMAN CABAI MERAH (CAPSICUM ANNUUM L.)
Red chili crop (Capsicum annuum L.) is a shrub of the Solanaceae family that is used as a spice and medicine. B. thuringiensis (Bt) is a gram-positive bacterium that can produce phytohormones for plant growth and replace the function of chemical insecticides. This research was conducted from June-August 2023 in the Phytopathology Laboratory and applied in the experimental garden of the Plant Protection Study Program, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Sriwijaya University. This study used a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD, consisting of 6 treatments and 5 replicates with doses of 10 g, 20 g, 30 g, 40 g, 50 g each combined with 1 L of water + 1 mL of NASA adhesive and control treatment using NPK fertilizer. The results of this study indicate that the use of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) is effective for spurring plant growth and development which can be seen from the growth of plant height at a dose of 40 g Bt, the number of leaf blades at a dose of 50 g Bt, the wet weight of the lower trunk of 20 g Bt, the wet weight of the upper trunk of 20 g Bt, the dry weight of the lower trunk of a dose of 20 g Bt, the dry weight of the upper trunk of a dose of 50 g Bt, the weight of red chili fruit at a dose of 20 g Bt. The use of Bt also affects the diversity of pest arthropods, predators, parasitoids and pollinators on the growth of red chili. It was found that the largest presence of arthropods came from the Hymenoptera order, namely Trigona carbonaria, which acts as a pollinator.
