Facebook Diskominfo Palembang is a Facebook account based on government information content around the city of Palembang. The author is interested in knowing the effect of using the Diskominfo Palembang Facebook account on meeting the information needs of followers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the Diskominfo Palembang Facebook account on meeting the information needs of followers. The theory used in this study includes social media theory, uses and gratification, and information needs. The research method used in this research is quantitative. Collecting data in this study is by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents who are determined using the Slovin formula. The results were obtained with a significant value of 0.000, which means that the use of social media on the Palembang Diskominfo Facebook account has a significant influence on fulfilling the information needs of its followers.
