Research on Plant Diversity in the School Environment of SMA N 1 Paranginan as a Resource for Learning Biology in Senior High School Class X has been carried out in September-December 2022 at SMA N 1 Paranginan, Kab. Humbanghasundutan North Sumatra. The research aims to identify the diversity of plant species in the school environment of SMA N 1 Paranginan as a source of learning about biodiversity. Methods of data collection by exploring the entire school environment and identifying plants with data based on type, number of individuals, and habitus. Of the total identified plants, 47 families, 86 species of plants were found with a total of 1287 total plants at SMA N 1 Paranginan. Plants in the SMA N 1 Paranginan are classified into 6 divisions, namely Pteridophyta with 1 plant species, Cycadophyta with 1 plant species, Tracheophyta with 10 plant species, Magnoliophyta with 64 plant species; Spermatophyta with 8 types of plants and Coniferophyta with 2 types of plants. The level of plant diversity in the environment of SMA N 1 Parangnan is classified as high with a diversity index (H') value of 3.385. The results of this study were used as learning media for Biology for class X SMA in the 2013 curriculum basic competency 3.2 Analyzing Various Levels of Biodiversity in Indonesia and Their Threats and Conservation, in the form of learning sources based on plant information blogs with QR-Code.
