In writing Indonesian, spelling is an element that needs to be considered so the information that the writer wants to convey to the reader can be conveyed properly. Accidental writing errors like due to errors in choosing standard words that are in accordance with Ejaan Yang Disempurnakan (EYD) often occur in the process of writing works. The time needed to manually re-check is also time- consuming and energy-consuming because it requires focus to re-read one word at a time in written work. Therefore the researcher created a writing accuracy measurement system that checked the writing word for word of an essay using the Levenshtein Distance method. The Levenshtein Distance method is a matrix calculation method used to calculate the distance between two sequences. Based on the test results using 10 types of written data, the accuracy of the system in measuring the accuracy of writing based on accuracy calculations is 98.75% and the total point value of the Mean Reciprocal Rank (MRR) for recommendation words and correct words is 47.2%.
