Gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy Lac.) is a type of freshwater fish native to Indonesia which is quite widely cultivated and has high production rates in South Sumatra. However, the growth and feed efficiency of gouramy are still relatively low it needs to be increased by providing optimal feed and cultivation systems. Feeding combination of commercial feed and azolla in the biofloc system is tought to increase the growth and feed efficiency of gouramy. This research aims to determine the effect of giving a combination of commercial feed and azolla on the growth and feed efficiency of gouramy in the biofloc system using swamp probiotics. This research was carried out at the Laboratory of Aquaculture and Experimental Ponds, Fisheries Basic Laboratory, Aquaculture Study Program and Microbiology and Biotechnology Fisheries Product Laboratory, Fisheries Product Technology Study Program, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University on April to May 2023. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD) with consist of two treatments and three replications. The treatments given was P1 (100% commercial feed) and P2 (50% commercial feed and 50% azolla). The results showed that P2 was the best treatment which resulted in absolute length growth 2.27 cm, absolute weight growth 15.89 g, specific growth rate (SGR) 1.91% day-1, feed efficiency 57.59%, survival rate of 80.42%, floc volume 17.30 ml L-1, temperature 26.90-32.70ºC, pH 6.70-7.89, dissolved oxygen 3.57-6.37 mg L-1, ammonia 0.02-1.04 mg L-1 and total dissolved solid (TDS) 853.33-960.00 mg L-1. This research shows that providing a combination of commercial feed and azolla in a biofloc system provides better results for the growth and feed efficiency of gouramy.
