The research aimed to evaluate the growth and yield of several F2 generation maize accessions derived from crossing Unsri Maize x Purple Maize, examine segregation and conduct negative selection against plants, that do not have purple seed color, and then select several plants to be parental to produce seeds for next generation of research. The research was conducted in collaboration with farmers in the farmland of Jalan Sarjana, Timbangan Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency from January to May 2023. This study used a nested Randomized Block Design (RBD). The study consisted of three accessions, namely UJ1XU, UJ2XU, and UJ3XU. In the planting field, each accession was assigned 4 groups consisting of 10 sample plants so that there were a total of 40 sample plants per experimental unit. The parameters observed included growth parameters, namely plant height, cob height, male flower age, female flower age and harvest age. Production parameters included cob length,cob diameter, cob weight, number of seeds per cob, seed weight per cob and 100 seed weight. Segregation and selection parameters include stem color, leaf color and seed color. The results showed that accession UJ3XU has the best production value among other accessions. In addition, accession UJ3XU was observed to have good growth potential, but require selection to increase uniform production
