KONSEP DIRI AKADEMIK SISWA YANG MEMILIKI MOTIVASI BELAJAR INSTRUMENTAL PADA KELAS VII DI SMP MUHAMMADIYAH 04 PALEMBANG
High academic self-concept creates a strong sense of self-confidence in academics. This study aims to determine the level of academic self-concept of students who are motivated to learn instruments at SMP Muhammadiyah 04 Palembang. This research is a descriptive quantitative research with a research population of 110 students and a research sample of 22 students who were obtained through a purposive sampling technique with consideration of taking samples of students who have an instrumental learning motivation. The method in this study used a questionnaire as a source of instrumental learning motivation and an academic self-concept scale obtained by distributing the instrument directly to the sample. Data analysis in this study uses the percentage formula (%) and the simple linearity test formula. The results of the analysis of the processed data obtained by the level of self-concept of academic students are in the medium category, with a value proportion of 77%. Students who are in the low category of academic self-concept are at the proportion level of 9%. And students who are categorized as high academic self-concept are at the 14% level. Then for data analysis results based on student gender, the results show that the self-concept of academic students with female gender is in the moderate category and is at the level of 85%. Meanwhile, the academic self-concept of male gender is in the moderate category and is at the 75% level. Then the simple linearity test analysis shows that the more instrumental the source of student learning motivation, the higher the academic self-concept.
