This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of various doses of Methyl Metsulfuron herbicide with the addition of Surfactant in controlling weeds in immature oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) plantations. The research was conducted in Wimar Oil Palm Plantation PT BCP Kebun Suka Mulya from November 2022 to April 2023. This study used Factorial Randomised Block Design with 2 factors. The first factor was the type of Methyl Metsulfuron herbicide with 6 levels, it were : M0 (without herbicide), M1 (60 g ha-1 of Metyl metsulfuron), M2 (75 g ha-1 of Metyl metsulfuron), M3 (90 g ha-1 of Metyl metsulfuron) M4 (105 g ha-1 of Metyl metsulfuron), and M5 (120 g ha-1 of Metyl metsulfuron). The second factor was Sufractant concentration with 3 levels, it were : S0 (without surfactant), S1 (0,25 ml l-1 of surfactant), and S2 (0,50 ml l-1 of surfactant), each treatment repeated 3 times. The results showed that there was a change in the composition of grass weeds. Before herbicide application the dominant weed was Arthraxon hispidus with SDR 27,48%, after herbicide application the dominant weed was Elaeis guineensis Jacq. with SDR 68,1%. M5 herbicide treatment at a dose of 120 g ha-1 or equivalent to 2,18 g m-2 / 2 L-1 most suppressed the growth of weeds from each class. The combination of herbicide treatment M5S2 (120 g ha-1 or 2,18 g m-2 / 2 L-1 + 0,50 ml L-1) was able to control the weeds of the teki group, grass group, broad leaf group according to the spray calibration in the field until the observation of 12 MSA. Methyl metsulfuron herbicide treatment with the addition of Surfactant in all treatments gave a good effect on the height growth of immature oil palm plants.
