PENYARINGAN GANDA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS AIR SUNGAI DAERAH LIMBAH INDUSTRI KELAPA SAWIT
This study aims to design and test a water filtration device contaminated by palm oil industry waste with a double filtration system. This study uses descriptive methods by using data analysis, direct observation to the field, analyzing screening results in the laboratory, literature studies related to the research title, and results are applied in the form of tables and graphs. Double filter is a wastewater treatment technology that is a fairly affordable alternative option in cost, especially when using different discharges. The results of the second discharge measurement at the location that the sample (L1Q2U2) has a greater water output value compared to other samples which is 1,9 l / m with a time of 5,18 minutes and the lowest in the sample (L1Q2U1) which is 1,2 l / m water flow time 8,13 minutes. Measurement of the hydraulic conductivity of the material is carried out to determine the absorption of the material to water by the method of falling water level and measuring the volume of water absorbed by the material in a matter of time (seconds). The material used as a filter in this study consists of 4 layers, namely fiber, silica sand, activated carbon and zeolite. The reason for using this media is because the material for filtering, has good porosity. Porosity is a measure of the empty space between materials, and is a fraction of the volume of space. Dual filters are able to raise pH after filtration and are able to reduce TSS, COD and BOD levels after filtration but have not met the quality standards of Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan dan Lingkungan Hidup Nomor 5 Tahun 2014 and Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan Nomor 32 Tahun 2017.
