This study aims to evaluate growth and production of black rice (Oryza sativa L. indica) accession of IP 6.8.4 and IP 6.8.3, and to select superior plants to be patental plants for new varieties. The research was carried out at swampy land in Lorong Kedukan Bukit II, Palembang from June to December 2022. Data were analyzed according to “two sample t-test” by using computer program of Statistical Analysis System (SAS). Research on IP 6.8.4 accession included 111 plants and resulted in 17 plants and on IP 6.8.3 accessions included 100 plants and resulted in 16 plants. Data analysis indicated that, in general, accessions of IP 6.8.4 and IP 6.8.3, were able to grew well in swampy land area. Both accessions had about similar yield, flowering and harvesting time, and some grain characters, but they had different growth, in which, IP 6.8.4 accession had higher and more homogen plant height than IP 6.8.3 accession. Selection on IP 6.8.3 accession resulted 4 plants of number 7, 1, 43 and 83 and on IP 6.8.3 accession resulted on number 67, 12, 40 and 57 to be parental plants. Yied potential of these selected plants reached about 1,50 ton dry grain per ha.
