The risk of farming due to floods will often be encountered by farmers every rainy season. If this problem is not quickly resolved, it will pose a threat to national food security and will increase the length of the list of poor farmers making it difficult for the government to reduce and alleviate poverty. The objectives of this study are: (1) To identify the conditions, problems and causes of flooding experienced by rice farmers in Sumber Mulya Village, Rimau Island District, Banyuasin Regency, (2) To calculate the losses of farmer households affected by flooding in rice fields Sumber Mulya Village, Rimau Island District, Banyuasin Regency, (3) To analyze the survival strategies of rice farmers in the face of economic losses arising from flooding in rice fields Sumber Mulya Village, Rimau Island District, Banyuasin Regency. This research was carried out in SumberMulya, Rimau Island District, Banyuasin Regency from December 2022 to January 2023. The siting was carried out deliberately. The method used in this study is to use simple random sampling with the consideration that rice farmers in the village are affected by floods. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that (1) Continuous flooding causes rice farmers to experience crop failure due to the land theyhave cannot be used. The causes of flooding include low topography, high rainfall, air temperature, and air humidity, (2) after testing the household income of rice farmers before and after flooding through SPSS software, it can be known that the value of sig. (tailed-2) ≤ 0.05 then reject H 0. Based on the decision rules, the meaning of this value is that the income of farmers before the flood is higher than after the flood on rice fields. So it can be concluded that rice farmers in Sumber Mulya Village experienced household losses due to floods that hit rice fields, (3) the strategies used by rice farmers in survival are using active strategies, passive strategies and network strategies with the total value of survival strategies obtained is 10.77 and is included in low criteria.
