PENGGUNAAN LARUTAN GETAH GAMBIR (Uncaria gambier Roxb) UNTUK PENGOBATAN PENYAKIT MOTILE AEROMONAS SEPTICEMIA (MAS) PADA IKAN PATIN (Pangasius sp.)
One of the disease in pangasius catfish is the pathogenic bacteria Aeromonas hydrophila which causes Motile Aeromonas septicemia (MAS) or known as red spot disease. This study aimed to determine the concentration for treatments of pangasius catfish (Pangasius sp.) infected with Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria using gambier (Uncaria gambier Roxb) sap solution. This research design used a completely randomized design (CRD) which consisted of negative control and positive control as well as three treatments with three replications. The treatments given were, infected with bacteria and without treatment (K-), infected with bacteria and immersion in antibiotic solution (oxytetracycline) concentration 50 mg L-1 (K+), infected with bacteria and immersion in gambier sap solution concentration of 1 g L-1 (P1), infected with bacteria and immersion in gambier sap solution concentration of 2 g L-1 (P2), and infected with bacteria and immersion in gambier sap solution concentration of 3 g L-1 (P3). All treatments were immersed gambier sap for 30 minutes. The best research results were found in the P3 treatment with a concentration of 3 g L-1, capable of treating Aeromonas hydrophila bacterial infection in pangasius catfish. The highest survival rate was 88.33%, the percentage of recovered was 96.18%, the highest absolute weight growth was 1.99 g, absolute length growth was 0.27 cm and the total leukocytes, erythrocytes, hematocrit, hemoglobin and water quality were still in the normal range. Keyword: Aeromonas hydrophila, gambier sap, pangasius catfish
